OMG

OMG this ride through the Valle Grande was unbelievable. Both breath taking and heart stopping at the same time. We left San Raphael and drove about 45 minutes to Nihuil. The road was smooth and two lanes, so we made fairly good time. When we got there, there was a pretty lake and a small village. We went to a cute little cafe for empanadas and headed back. Our hotel manager had suggested we take the Valle Grande road back.  We got on "route 173" to head back. It started as a gravel road and continued as a gravel road for at least two hours. Beginning at a high Mesa, the road meandered down the side of the cliff side untill we got to the basin of the river bed.  Imagine being able to do this at the Grand Canyon with NO guard rails. We could go no faster than 10 miles per hour over this bumpy  road with several switch backs. My caps are all now loose. We got out of the car several times to take pictures of the beautiful vistas, but the picture will not do it justice. Ryan if you are reading this PLEASE put it on you todo list. Great day, I did not drive because we would be dead now. AL did an outstanding job as pilot.
